Charlton Athletic boss Dean Holden has refused to be drawn on Crystal Palace loan man Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s future at The Valley ahead of the January transfer window. There have been whispers of a potential recall this winter but it is business as usual as far as his new Addicks manager is concerned.

The 20-year-old was given the green light to join the League One side in August and is due to spend the whole campaign with the London outfit. He has been getting plenty of first-team football under his belt and has scored five goals in 18 games so far.

However, the youngster has been linked with a switch to the Championship next month to fast track his development. The Evening Standard have reported that Millwall and Hull City are interested in landing him.

However, Holden has had this to say to the South London Press: “It is noise. He’s signed to us. Obviously there is a parent club who, in the future, will be in charge of him. We’ve got him for the moment and he’s a really good player. We don’t talk about that [speculation he could be recalled].

“We focus on improving him as a player. When we take a player from a Premier League club, it is our job to improve them and for them to come in and do well for the team. His goal involvements are probably more [frequent] in the early part of the season but he is a top young player.”

Crystal Palace have a big decision to make on what to do with Rak-Sakyi at Charlton. He is already a club where he is guarenteed minutes but should he now test himself in a division above?

He has been on the books at Selhurst Park since 2019 having previously played in the academy at Chelsea. The England youth international has since made four senior appearances for the Eagles.
