Everton are reportedly making a late bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Phillipe Mateta. The Toffees are keen to bolster their attacking options before the end of the transfer window and need to act fast.

According to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon, the Merseyside club are making a ‘new’ move for the Frenchman as they look to get something sorted before the deadline. Sean Dyche has taken over a side who are joint-bottom of the Premier League and need reinforcements.

Crystal Palace have a decision to make regarding Mateta’s future at Selhurst Park. He has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season so has featured regularly under Patrick Viera. However, he has only found the net once.

He has played for the South London club since 2020 when he joined on an initial loan deal from Bundesliga side Mainz. The former Lyon man has since scored nine goals in 54 games altogether but his situation is up in the air this evening as Everton set their sights on him.

In other news, Crystal Palace have secured the signing of 20-year-old midfielder Naouirou Ahamada on a three-and-a-half year deal. He has left Stuttgart for a new challenge in England.
