Crystal Palace vs West Ham injury update as 2 out and 1 doubt for all-London Premier League clash

The game between Crystal Palace and West Ham is already a must-win for both clubs after opening day defeats.

Crystal Palace were beaten away at Brentford, which piles pressure on their first home game of the seaosn, but the Eagles are having to deal with a troubling summer transfer window that has already seen two of their top four players leave, with the other two heavily linked to possible exits.

Michael Olise, who scored 10 goals last season, is already in Bavaria with Bayern Munich, while Joachim Andersen is close to joining Fulham and is set to go undergo a medical on Wednesday. Marc Guehi has also been strongly linked with a departure. Newcastle have had five bids, including one for £65million, turned down, but they are mulling over a sixth and final offer.

There is also interest in Eberechi Eze, which, although unlikely, is still something to keep an eye on. Meanwhile, the Eagles are sweating over the fitness of midfielder Cheick Doucoure, who could return this week after picking up a knock in pre-season.

Doucoure was a massive miss for the Eagles last season, but reports from the South London Press suggest he could pass a late fitness test to be involved this weekend. Defender Matheus Franca de Oliveira has an abdominal injury and is expected to miss this one.

As for West Ham, who also lost at home to Aston Villa, they will be desperate to get their first three points of the season. The Hammers are beginning life under new manager Julen Lopetegui and will be eager to avoid back-to-back defeats.

However, they will be without defensive midfielder Edson Álvarez, who has been battling a thigh problem. The Hammers have cover, though, and have splashed the cash this summer with the exciting arrivals of players like Crysencio Summerville, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Niclas Füllkrug.

Crystal Palace won all four of their home games at the end of last season, so this promises to be a keenly-contested game in what is another London derby for the Eagles after their defeat at Brentford last week.
