Crystal Palace will take a look at Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Gavin Beavers on trial. The young stopper will train with the Eagles alongside his teammate Fernando Delgado.

The MLS outfit have confirmed the news on their official club website. They have also announced that goalkeeping coach Mirza Harambasic will be temporarily coming over to England with the pair as well.

Crystal Palace are keeping one eye on the future as they scout out potential additions for their youth ranks. Beavers, who is 17-years-old, is a United States U19 international and stands at 6ft 4inc.

He has risen up through Real Salt Lake’s academy ranks and has been a key player for the Utah-based club over the past few years. The prospect made his debut for their affiliate team Real Monarchs in the USL Championship in June last year and became the youngest ever goalkeeper to play in that league at the age of just 16.

Beavers was handed his first professional contract in 2021 and has since been promoted up to the senior roster. He is under contract at America First Field Stadium until December next year but will now be looked at by Palace this month.

Patrick Viera’s side beat Southampton 1-0 over the weekend at Selhurst Park. They are back in action on Sunday away at West Ham.
