Crystal Palace stunned as Italian club plot sensational raid for 26-year-old fan favourite

Crystal Palace face a fight to keep one of their most in-form players after a brilliant campaign in south London.

Serie A side Napoli have joined German side VfL Wolfsburg in showing interest in Crystal Palace forward  Jean-Philippe Mateta ahead of the summer transfer window, LondonWorld has been exclusively told. The French striker is the Eagles Player of the Season after what has been a terrific campaign for the 26-year-old.

In what is his third season in south London, Mateta has shown he can be trusted, finding the back of the net 13 times as Oliver Glasner’s side have won five of their last six games and looking to finish on a high after a surprisingly difficult first half of the season.

This is also the first time that he’s had 20 goal contribution since he moved to the Premier League and his exploits have not gone unnoticed by Napoli who are looking for a striker just in case Victor Osimhen is sold this summer.

Blessed with incredible athleticism, Mateta is a man with a growing reputation in the Premier League and he’s suddenly become a fan favourite with a trademark goal celebration at the corner flag.

Palace have some of the most exciting young players in the league with Michael Olise being linked with a move to Manchester United already, Eberechi Eze reportedly catching the eye at Manchester City and Marc Guehi who is being monitored at both Chelsea and Manchester United.

Former Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner has come in and turned things around and they could equal their best points tally of the Premier League era if they beat Aston Villa who have qualified for the Champions League and will have nothing to play for at the weekend.
