Crystal Palace prepared for transfer battle with Everton over Tottenham Hotspur star

The midfielder has a number of admirers around the Premier League.

Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on a move for Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder Harry Winks.

The 26-year-old has struggled for game-time under Antonio Conte and made just 19 Premier League appearances for Spurs last season.

That has led to speculation Winks will be allowed to leave the club this summer and he is said to no longer feature in the Italian’s plans despite having two years left on his current contract.

Everton, Southampton and La Liga club Sevilla are all said to be interested according to The Sun and a fee of around £20million has been suggested.

However, Palace are also interested in securing the midfielder as they look to replace loan star Conor Gallagher after he returned to parent club Chelsea following an impressive spell at Selhurst Park.

Frank Lampard’s Everton are said to be leading the chase for Winks and are said to have made contact with Spurs over a possible move.

Palace’s hopes of landing the 10-times capped England midfielder could receive a boost by the fact Everton’s budget restrictions mean they may only be able to offer a loan deal to their Premier League rivals.

Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Winks but look set to turn their attentions elsewhere.
