Standing in their way to the quarter-final stage is Championship side Stoke City, with the Eagles the favourites to progress tonight.

The fifth round game comes at the right time for Patrick Vieira’s men, with the team picking form at the right time.

They have lost only one of their last six games in all competitions, and have picked up four points from their last two games - a win against Watford and a hard-fought draw against Burnley.

In what has been a promising campaign for the south London side, they are currently 11th in the Premier League table and fancy a great cup run to accompany their league form.

Palace have never won the FA Cup, but did make the final in 2016 losing 2-1 to Manchester United.

The chance to go to Wembley would be brilliant for a fan base who have taken to their new manager.

They certainly stand a chance with the brand of football and confidence they are playing with.

Stoke are not doing well in the Championship, and come into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Premier League chasing Bournemouth.

So if Michael O'Neill’s side can get a win at Selhurst, it will go down as one of the upsets of the season given how contrasting the two sides’ form is at the minute.

The Crystal Palace boss says it’s an important competition and wants his fans to get excited about their run so far.

He added: “Players getting excited, fans getting excited. We want to build momentum.

“It’s important for the players to be excited as it brings positiveness around the training ground and the games.

“As a player, this is a really important competition for the club and team. There’s no reason we should only focus on one competition.”
