Crystal Palace paid for a sloppy start to the second half with with Burnley earning a hard-fought point to move closer to Premier League survival.

Sunny Selhurst

For a Saturday in February the first day part of the day was unusually sunny, with most fans seen at Selhurst basking and enjoying the rare sunshine.

The sun did help with the atmosphere as Palace quickly got an early goal and the whole stadium bounced from the generally feel good factor the goal and the sunshine had brought along.

Given how the weather has been in the last week with storm Eunice battering London it was a genuinely feel good factor to see the entire Holmesdale covered with the sun and fans being able to take off their winter jackets even if it was just for a moment.

Patrick Vieira looking upset on the touchline

Patrick Vieira is a man who rarely sits during games and when he does it’s just a minute before he is back on the touchline.

The Palace boss stood all afternoon mostly with his hands in his jacket, but at one point in the first half where he was really upset with the referee for failing to issue a card after Michael Olise was brought down.

The Palace manager continued to pace up and down his box, mostly having to be reminded to stay in his designated area.

Having started the season as a very calm manager the former Arsenal midfielder has developed into a slightly more vocal manager to try and get his team across the line in the last few games.

Michael Olise’s scare

Michael Olise got the assist for Jeffrey Schlupp’s goal but shortly after that he was holding his hamstring and play had to be stopped for while as the winger was attended to.

The former Reading man has been a breath of fresh air since joining in the summer and is mostly not too far away when something good is being created at Selhurst.

He has five assists and has scored two goals in the Premier League this season and with games coming up in the FA Cup and Palace hoping to go further in the both competitions they can ill afford an injury to their man of the moment.

Palace fans have a new song for their manager Patrick Vieira

Selhurst is undoubtedly one of the best places to be every other Saturday with their vociferous fans.

But this Saturday was particularly special with the fans bellowing out the “we’ve got the super Patrick Vieira song.”

It’s been a very good start for Vieira as a manager in the Premier League, and even though he would have wished for more wins to go along with some of the impressive performances the Eagle fans have wasted little time in making him feel at home with their support.

He would have loved the fact the fans have already worked on a song that rhymes and fits so well to his name.

Fans urge Olise to shoot

With five minutes to end of the game Palace had Burnley pinned with the host creating chances, but just not finding the finishing touch.

At the heart of all the Palace dominance was Michael Olise who cut in and sent in crosses at every given opportunity but fans soon began urging him to shoot.

“Shooooooot” was the huge cry from the home side as chased the winning goal but it never came with with the game ending 1-1.
