Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has reportedly been left out of England’s squad for their clash against Italy this evening.

The Three Lions take on Roberto Mancini’s side at the San Siro in the Nations League.

Guehi, 22, was called-up by Gareth Southgate for their upcoming matches but there isn’t enough room for him tonight in the 23-man squad.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson and Ben Chilwell have also missed out, as per a report by the Daily Mail.

Blow for Crystal Palace ace

Guehi made his England debut in March against Switzerland and has since played twice more for his country.

He has been a hit since signing for Crystal Palace back in July last year and has adapted well to life at Selhurst Park.

The centre-back rose up through the youth ranks at Chelsea but played just twice for their first-team. Instead, he had two loan spells away in the Championship with Swansea City before the Eagles swooped in to land him.

Guehi has since established himself as a key player under Patrick Viera and although it will be disappoining for him to miss out against Italy, this isn’t the worst news for those associated with Palace as it means he will be fresher when he returns to club duties.
