Crystal Palace are not looking to bring in a replacement for Shaun Derry. The 45-year-old has departed his role as first-team coach at Selhurst Park this winter.

According to reporter Alan Nixon on Patreon, the London club ‘will not’ be adding another member to their coaching staff. The Eagles drew 1-1 with Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend with defender James Tomkins scoring their goal.

Crystal Palace cut ties with Derry late last month and he will now be weighing up his next move in the game. He has been a manager in the past with Notts County and Cambridge United in the Football League.

The former midfielder, who played for the Eagles along with the likes of QPR, Sheffield United and Leeds United during his playing days, re-joined the club back in 2019 and initially became U23’s boss. He was then promoted to join Patrick Viera’s staff in 2021 following the Frenchman’s arrival.

Kristian Wilson remains on the backroom staff at Crystal Palace joined the same time as Viera after spells together at New York City and OGC Nice. Former West Brom stopper Dean Kiely is the goalkeeper coach, Osian Roberts is assistant manager and Saïd Aïgoun is development coach.
