Latest Crystal Palace transfer news and rumours following the end of the Premier League season

Crystal Palace could reportedly allow goalkeeper Owen Goodman to go out on loan next season. The highly-rated stopper may depart on a temporary basis to get some game time under his belt.

According to London News Online, the Eagles are ‘looking’ to fix up a deal for the youngster. He has been the club’s first choice stopper for the Under-21s over recent times.

Crystal Palace are no strangers to loaning out some of their younger players to help boost their development. The likes of Scott Banks, Malcolm Ebiowei, Luke Plange and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi all spent time away last term.

Goodman, who is 19-years-old, was handed a new deal last year and is under a long-term contract at Selhurst Park. However, his pathway into the first-team is blocked for now due to the senior options that they have ahead of him at the moment in the pecking order.

The Essex-born man has been with the Eagles for his whole career to date and has risen up through their academy. After penning a new deal last November, he said: “It feels great to sign this contract extension. I get to be here for a lot longer and I get to continue to show what I can do.”

Academy Director Gary Issott added: “He’s one of the most exciting young goalkeepers we’ve had here in my time at the football club. The fact that he’s now committed his long-term future here is great news and it shows how committed the owners and the club are to getting and retaining the best young talent.”

In other Crystal Palace news, Atletico Madrid have become the latest club to be linked with a move for Wilfried Zaha. The Daily Mail claim they have ‘enquired’ about the winger who is currently mulling over his future.

i News have also reported that the Eagles are interested in Sunderland winger Jack Clarke. However, Burnley and Everton have also been mentioned as competition for his signature.
