It is expected to be a summer of transition at Crystal Palace with both comings and goings they prepare for another year in the Premier League. They finished 11th in this past season after Roy Hodgson came in and steered them away from relegation danger.

Jean-Phillipe Mateta, Jake O’Brien and Joe Whitworth are all being linked with potential exits ahead of next term. The Eagles have some big decisions to make on the transfer front.

German news outlet Bild claim Everton are keen on luring Mateta away from Crystal Palace as they look to bolster their attacking options under Sean Dyche. The striker was a target for the Toffees back in January but ended up staying put at Selhurst Park beyond the deadline.

He has been playing his football in South London since 2021 after he joined from Mainz in the Bundesliga. He has since made 67 appearances in all competitions and has scored 10 goals, with only two coming in the last campaign.

O’Brien was snapped up as a youngster from Cork City a few years ago and is still yet to make a senior appearance. Nevertheless, he has had loan spells away at Swindon Town and RWD Molenbeek over recent times to gain experience.

According to the Irish Examinder, the City Group are interested in signing him. They own the likes of Girona, Palermo, New York City and Mebourne City and could see the defender as a future addition for one of their many clubs around the world.

Crystal Palace are apparently looking to loan out goalkeeper Whitworth next term to help him get some more experience under his belt. The stopper has risen up through the academy. As per London News Online, the club want him to head out the exit door temporarily to boost his development.
