Jackson dodges suspension

Chelsea have been handed a boost heading into the break with news that Nicolas Jackson will face no retrospective punishment for his slap during the brawl against Nottingham Forest. The two sides engaged in a tussle near the sidelines after Marc Cucurella was tripped up.

Footage after the game emerged showing Jackson slapping one of his opponents, and it was suggested that the FA could slap him with a fine and a possible suspension. It has now emerged that there will not be any suspension handed to the forward.

Robinson backs Eze move

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson is backing his old club to make a move for Eberechi Eze next summer amid previous reports of interest from Spurs in the England star. Robinson told Football Insider: “An attack-minded midfielder is something they are looking at alongside James Maddison. Eze, depending on how this season goes with Crystal Palace, will sit down and see where his future lies.

“It’ll be a tough one to get done in the winter. He’s under contract until 2027, so come next summer he’ll have two years left on his contract. I fully expect there to be interest in Eze if he has a good season for Palace this year and plays well for England as well. There’ll be a number of clubs ready to take him away from Selhurst Park next year.

“The top clubs in England will all be after him. The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are all admirers of Eze and are keeping tabs on his situation ahead of next summer’s transfer window.”
