Crystal Palace and Fulham have both seen their managers linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl has shared that it would be a ‘dream’ to work in the Premier League amid reports of interest from Crystal Palace and Fulham this week.

The 35-year-old is expected to quit Hillsborough this summer after his first full season in charge of the Owls. His tenure has taken place in front of a backdrop of off-the-pitch issues under the tenure of the controversial Dejphon Chansiri.

Crystal Palace and Fulham bosses Oliver Glasner and Marco Silva have both been touted as potential candidates to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur this summer. The Eagles manager has also been linked with a return to the Bundesliga at RB Leipzig, which could offer Glasner the chance of coaching in the Champions League.

The Star has named both those Premier League sides as admirers of Röhl, whose personality and management style has turned heads in the second tier. The coach gave an interview to RB Leipzig blog RBLive this week.

Alongside Glasner, Röhl has been rumoured as a contender to take on the post with the German giants close to his family home. Once again, the Owls manager hinted at an exit from Sheffield and appeared to send a ‘come get me’ message to any Premier League suitors.

He said: “I’ve always said that I’m very grateful to Sheffield for the opportunity I’ve been given there. And I’m someone who always wants to develop the club further. And to do that, you have to weigh up how far that’s still possible or whether the maximum has perhaps already been reached under the current conditions.

“I always want to work with the best players and compete with the best coaches. The Bundesliga is, of course, a top choice. After all, I grew up with the Bundesliga. But the Premier League is also a dream. I’m currently very excited to see what happens this summer.”

Danny Röhl ‘ready’ to take on Champions League

Röhl is contracted at Hillsborough until 2027 but has not held back in hinting at a departure when speaking to the media towards the end of the Championship season. He was also asked if he felt a Championship manager would have the credentials needed to take over at a club in the Champions League.

He said: “If both sides are convinced that you’re the right coach, then there’s nothing wrong with taking the step to a Champions League club. I may have only been a head coach for just under two years, but I’ve been involved in football for a total of 16 years.

“As an assistant coach in Leipzig, Munich, and at the German Football Association (DFB), I’ve had the privilege of coaching great players, winning the Champions League, coaching at a World Cup, and experiencing a Premier League relegation battle with Southampton. That’s a package that gives me a lot of confidence that I’m ready for any challenge, as long as both sides are convinced of each other.”

In other news, Oliver Glasner has already offered Crystal Palace hope amid RB Leipzig links and Danny Rohl claim.
