Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace target Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. The England international is a man in-demand this winter.

According to a report by The Telegraph, Eddie Howe’s side are keen on the 22-year-old along with Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech. The transfer window shuts in a couple of weeks’ time.

The Sun claimed over the weekend that Crystal Palace will make one ‘final’ bid to try and lure the midfielder back to Selhurst Park this month. He spent last season on loan with the Eagles and was a hit during his time at Selhurst Park, scoring eight goals in 39 games.

Gallagher returned to Stamford Bridge over the summer and has since made 24 appearances for the Blues in all competitions in this campaign, 17 of which have come in the Premier League. However, he continues to be linked with a permanent switch away from the London club.

He has been with Chelsea for his whole career to date and first joined them at the age of eight. The Epsom-born man has also had loan spells away at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City and West Brom to gain experience.

Signing him back would be great business for Crystal Palace and he would inject more quality into his ranks. However, Newcastle are reported to be in the frame for his signature as well and it has been well documented how much financial backing they have.
