'Everything’s going well': Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi provides fresh injury update ahead of Liverpool

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has missed the last eight games due to a knee injury.

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi says he is getting better and everything is progressing well after having to take a knee injury last month. The England international is racing to be fit for the end of this season.

The Eagles have only won one game since he got injured and were well-beaten by Manchester City over the weekend. He will not be part of the squad for this weekend’s trip to Liverpool but the 23-year-old is hopeful of adding to his 95 Premier League appearances before the end of this season.

He told TNT over the weekend: “It’s going well, I’m lucky I’ve got good people around me taking care of me.”

“My family’s been there, physios have been there, the team have been around me, so I’m really fortunate everything’s going well.

“That’s the plan,” added the former Chelsea player about if he is targeting a return before the end of the season on 19th May. “Hopefully I can come back and help the lads in the last few games. I’m just waiting to get back in and play.”

The Eagles face a difficult end to the campaign and they are just five points off safety. They travel to Anfield to take on a Liverpool side who are licking their wounds after a disappointing weakened where they were held by Manchester United to a 2-2 draw.
