Crystal Palace finished in a respectable 12th place last season in Patrick Viera’s first year in charge.
The Eagles will now be looking to build on that and push on into the top half.
They have bolstered their squad in this transfer window by bringing in midfielder Cheick Doucoure from Lens, defender Chris Richards from Bayern Munich, highly-rated young winger Malcolm Eboiwei and goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion.
The London club will be missing the influence of Conor Gallagher though following his return to parent club Chelsea after his loan ended.
First up for Viera’s side is the Premier League curtain raiser tomorrow night at home to Arsenal and they will be eager to start with a positive result in front of their own fans. They then play Liverpool away on 15th August.
