Chelsea have been on the search for a new manager after Mauricio Pochettino left the club this week.

Chelsea are expected to name their new manager next week as they look to finally get back on track ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer at the club.

They have held talks with Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca as they search for a new manager who is expected to be young, vibrant and incredibly driven to lead the project and vision that the American owners have put together.

Ipswich's Kieran McKenna is also a leading candidate for the job after Chelsea made contact with his representatives as well as Brentford's Thomas Frank

According to a report in the Sun, The Blues are keen to have a new manager in place by the end of next week in what will be the third permanent managerial appointment for the club's American owners.

Maresca, a former Manchester City assistant manager is top of the list and Chelsea have seen the success Arsenal have had since they signed a Pep Guardiola assistant and might be tempted to go the same way.

Brentford's manager, Thomas Frank is also seen as one who is highly rated by the board but as things stand a decision has not been made as they look to do a thorough job in appointing the next manager.

Interestingly enough the Brentford boss did not entirely rule out a move when asked about his future at the GTech Community stadium, he said: "I think that will happen. I’m happy here. I’ve said it many times and I mean it.

"I’m very aware the grass is not greener in the garden next door even if it looks like it. Then you get in there, take a closer look and see there are a lot of weeds in the grass."
