Burnley manager Vincent Kompany says it's only a matter of time before Chelsea clicks into gear but hopes it does not come against his side this weekend.

The Blues will travel to Turf Moor looking for only their first back-to-back league wins of the campaign despite spending almost £1billion on the squad.

Before the win against Fulham on Monday night, the Blues had never beaten a team ahead of them in the league this year and Mauricio Pochettino who has been brought in after a disappointing first year under new ownership is now beginning to get the best out of his squad.

Kompany has no doubt that they will begin to see the rewards soon after heavy investment, he told reporters ahead of the game on Saturday: “They are a talented side, the first question is how unlucky they have been. It is always the case with big clubs, having results all the time. When you look at their games, there is a very good side with very good players. It will happen at some time hopefully not at Turf Moor.

On Chelsea’s mega spending, the former Manchester City defender said: “I have been part of an environment when - as a player - money could be spent. Now I am part of an environment where we are far from being the biggest spending. I don’t have a single complaint about it. They have fantastic players. The exciting part for us is we can get so much better from our own resources.”

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has won 85.4% of his Premier League games against promoted sides, the highest ratio of any manager to take charge of at least 10 such matches.
