Chelsea have already moved on from the disappointment of Joules Kounde, and will try to sign Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries this summer as they look to add to their squad.

Thomas Tuchel had targeted Sevilla defender Kounde to come in and form a backbone with Kalidou Koulibaly, but the Frenchman’s preference is for Barcelona, so the Blues have moved on.

Thomas Tuchel’s side were also in the chase for both Raphinha and Matthijs de Ligt but missed out on both to Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.

They did sign Raheem Sterling, one of the best forwards in the Premier League, but couldn’t land Nathan Ake, with Pep Guardiola blocking an exit to the Dutch defender.

Nonetheless, Tuchel is looking to bring in new faces and has been working on adding firepower to his squad ahead of the season.

In addition to target Dumfries, the Blues have also made enquiries about Milan Skriniar, who is seen as one of the top defenders in Italy and Inter Milan looking to raise money.

There is still a slight hint of interest in Manchester United’s want-away forward Cristiano Ronaldo, while other reports in France say Tuchel is hoping to bring in Presnel Kimpembe.

Players are Chelsea have missed out this summer

It’s been a tough start for the Todd Boehly consortium, despite the signings of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.

They have missed out on big targets like Gabriel Jesus, Robert Lewandowski and more recently Jules Koundé.

Thomas Tuchel led Chelsea to a third place finish in the league and even though they got to the final of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, they lost both on penalties and will need big moves in the transfer window to have a solid season.
