Chelsea will be relieved as we rapidly approach the January transfer window, with Todd Boehly once again able to delve into the market in three weeks’ time. Despite bringing in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer, the Blues have struggled this season and currently sit eighth in the Premier League table.
Graham Potter’s side have suffered a number of injuries, while they have had to adapt to life under the former Brighton boss after Thomas Tuchel was controversially dismissed.
Boehly is likely to spend big once again next month as he looks to help his side move back up the table and challenge for Champions League football once again. 1. Diogo Costa
Costa has been linked with a move to the Premier League since Portugal departed the World Cup but would cost Chelsea around £70m.
2. Josko Gvardiol
Chelsea were already interested in signing the defender before he had an unbelievable World Cup with Croatia. The 20-year-old is now attracting plenty of attention across Europe.
3. Thiago Silva
Silva has been a rock at the back for Chelsea in 2020 and doesn’t like stopping anytime soon - despite turning 39 next year.
4. Kalidou Koulibaly
The defender has struggled with consistency since joining Chelsea. If his form doesn’t improve then is highly likely to be replaced by Wesley Fofana when he returns to full fitness.
