The three Manchester United players that will miss Chelsea Premier League game amid Mason Mount contract talks

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is pushing for his first start in five months at Stamford Bridge but they have injury issues too.

Mason Mount’s return to Stamford Bridge this evening has dominated the headlines with the England international returning to the club he began his career at the age of only 12. Mount scored the only goal for Manchester United over the weekend at Brentford

In the summer he turned down a contract extension to sign for Chelsea and LondonWorld sources say a section of the Matthew Harding Lower plan to boo him despite previously singing his name when he was at the club.

Liverpool were interested in him but in the end, Manchester United secured his signature and manager Erik ten Hag confirmed both Chelsea and the Reds were interested in the 25-year-old, but he wanted the next step which was United. 

Ten Hag said: "I don't think they wanted to sell him. They wanted to keep him and offered him a new contract many times. But he wanted to make this step.

"We are very pleased he is a Manchester United player because he has great abilities and will contribute and become a big player for Manchester United."

United injury news 

Manchester United will arrive at Stamford Bridge without some of their big hitters, including Victor Lindelof who has a hamstring injury and will not be at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Another blow is the absence of Lisandro Martinez, who has a muscular issue and is set for at least a month out. The Argentine has struggled with injuries this season and is now fighting to play again this campaign. 

And then there is Tyrell Malacia who has struggled with a knee injury all season and a return date is not in sight at the moment.
