Chelsea are desperate to a morale-boosting win after the 2-2 draw against Burnley at home. Manchester United aren’t firing on all cylinders either and they arrive at Stamford Bridge also in desperate need of three points that keeps their hunt for Champions League football alive.
Chelsea have their own European ambitions, the Conference League might not be the most lucrative competition, but securing it will be better than nothing and the extra income from that competition could help the club navigate a very tricky period.
On the injury front, Chelsea have been boosted by the news that Trevoh Chalobah, Robert Sanchez and Malo Gusto have all returned to training ahead of the game. Gusto was forced off in the 87th minute against Burnley and there had been concerns that he could have picked up a knock.

The big call will be to either recall Raheem Sterling who grabbed an assist off the bench over the weekend or keep faith with Mykhailo Mudryk. The Ukrainian has looked bright and playing with confidence having helped his country qualify for this summer’s European Championship.
