Chelsea have just confirmed Malo Gusto has an injury and will miss the game against Brighton this weekend. This is a massive blow given Reece James is also suspended for this weekend's following his sending-off against Newcastle.

Romeo Lavia is also still continuing his rehabilitation as well as Christopher Nkunku, despite being pictured in open training on Friday.

Carney Chukwuemeka is also still not ready as well as Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana. Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has some big calls to make mainly due to the injuries and suspension. He also needs to get a win at Stamford Bridge after just one home win all season.

Pochettino was upset after their defeat to Newcastle and hinted he would have cancelled their scheduled off day even though they did get the day off in the end.

"I think this is not our standard and ideally we should go to the hotel and train the next day," he said after the game last weekend.

Chelsea have only won four of their first 13 Premier League games and were beaten home and away by Brighton last season.

The Blues are without a win against the Seagulls in the league in their last five league meetings even though they did knock them out of the League Cup at the beginning of this season.
