Several players could bid farewell to Chelsea this weekend as a chaotic season finally comes to an end. The Blues are stuck in 12 in the Premier League table, well on track for their worse finish to a league campaign since 1994, and behind-the-scenes changes are already taking place.

Frank Lampard will definitely not be there next season with reports that former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will be named the next manager when the dust settles on what has been a forgettable first year for the owners.

Forward Joao Felix who is desperate to stay at Chelsea will have to wait to see if he’s done enough to convince the club to splash almost £80 million on signing him permanently or work out another loan deal with Atletico Madrid.

He reminded everyone of his quality and technique when he run through the middle to score a spectacular goal in the 4-1 defeat to Manchester United in midweek.

Denis Zakaria, so impressive under Graham Potter might also leave the club after injuries and lack of game time reduced his impact. Another player who will looked good when he played, but just never looked like he’d done enough to be a Chelsea star.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has been out with a finger injury but was brought in from the cold against Nottingham Forest and didn't look to have done enough to keep the spot. The new Chelsea manager will be looking to bring in someone who can instill confidence in the backline, so either Mendy or Kepa will likely leave this summer. Kepa’s astronomical wages make him hard to move, while Mendy has failed to agree to a new deal.

Captain Cesar Azpilicueta also still has a year left on his current deal but has increasingly looked like he just doesn't have the legs to compete at this level regularly. A section of the fanbase have a nice plan for him and given all the chaos around the club, he might also now head back home to try and see out what is left of his career.

Then there is N’golo Kante, whose contract runs out in a month, back in February there had been reports that he was set for a new deal- but injuries have limited his impact there is really now a discussion on if offering him a new deal is really the right call.

And Hakim Ziyech, who came very close to joining PSG in the summer before technical issues pulled the plugs on the deal, he and Christian Pulisiic looked like they were just winding down the clock at Old Trafford and could leave after the final game of the season against Newcastle.
