Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has reportedly been told by the Blues that he can leave during the January transfer window, amid reports that West Ham hold an interest in him.
The Hammers are said to have identified Dewsbury-Hall as a target this window as they aim to strengthen in midfield following a poor start to the season under Julen Loptegui - who was sacked on Wednesday.

According to Journalist Fabrizio Romano, Dewsbury-Hall is available to leave Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window.
He said on X: “Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall can leave Chelsea this month in case of [a] good bid for both player/club. Chelsea already informed the player since December about his availability on the market.”
West Ham see Dewsbury-Hall as a target as they aim to improve their squad in January. The Hammers sit 14th in the Premier League table, seven points off the relegation zone.
It has been a disappointing first half of the year for the Hammers, who had high expectations this season after making a number of signings in the January transfer window, including Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Dewsbury-Hall may not be the only Chelsea midfielder who could be set to make a move to the London Stadium this month, as the Hammers reportedly hold an interest in Carney Chukwuemeka too.
The 21-year-old has made just five appearances in all competitions this season, none of which have been in the Premier League. He joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £15m from league rivals Aston Villa.
However, in two-and-a-half years, Chukwuemeka has made just 37 Premier League appearances for the Blues, and he doesn’t seem to be part of Enzo Maresca’s plans at the club moving forward.
West Ham aren’t the only side keen to sign the midfielder though, as Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claimed on X that Borussia Dortmund also hold an interest.

Seeing as the Blues have spent big over the past few seasons under owner Todd Boehly, selling several players in the January transfer window could help to ease the pressure on the club.
Should Chelsea be found to have made losses of over £105m over the last three seasons, they could be hit with sanctions due to breaking the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. The club reported a loss of £90.1m for the 2022/23 season.
Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest and Everton were both hit with points deductions after breaching the rules last season. The Toffees incurred a deduction of eight points, risking their Premier League survival.
