According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are now ‘confident’ of pulling off a deal, with PSG reportedly willing to cut a deal.
It’s reported Kimpembe would cost £40million, but agreeing a fee with PSG will only be half the battle for Chelsea.
Kimpembe is PSG through and through, and judging by an interview he gave to RMC Sport this time two years ago, the Blues might have their work cut out in attempting to convince the defender to leave Parc des Princes.

Adked about an exit back then, he added: “Leave the club? No. Especially when you get to 17, 18, 19 or 20, I think that’s not the right solution.
“Especially when you train with people like Ibrahimovic, David Luiz, Pastore … You really have people who can bring you this experience and this quality during training, even if it’s true that the matches, you don’t play them not.
“You would prefer to play the matches, it’s a difficult time, but you learn a lot every day with players like that.”

It will be interesting to see how this one plays out.
