Moises Caicedo's outburst explained in Chelsea's 4-2 defeat to Wolves

Moises Caicedo endured a difficult afternoon as Chelsea suffered a heavy defeat to Wolves in the Premier League.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was forced to bring off Moises Caicedo in Chelsea's disappointing 4-2 defeat to a rampant Wolverhampton side at Stamford Bridge. The summer signing from Brighton had a strange game where he set up Cole Palmer with a well-weighted pass to give his side the lead but then lost the ball easily for Matheus Cunha's equaliser.

Caicedo was brought in for a record-breaking fee to be the engine of the team, but against Wolves, he looked sluggish and lost the ball cheaply which allowed Wolves an easy turnover even if they did not use all the chances that Chelsea happily offered them.

The Ecuadorian and Argentine midfield partner Enzo Fernandez were forced to delete their X (formerly Twitter) accounts this week, and his reaction after being replaced by the returning Nicolas Jackson with half an hour to go summed up a difficult week for the former Brighton star which started at Anfield.

Caicedo smashed his seat repeatedly in fury, most likely due to his own performance with his last two actions being fouling Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha. Chelsea were second-best all over the pitch and his outburst on the bench was evidence of his frustrating time at Stamford Bridge since joining in the summer.

After the game, Pochettino was asked if the players were good enough and he said: "At the moment we are all not good enough and Chelsea should be in a better position than we are at the moment."

"I am not going to name anyone I am included and the whole team needs support to be able to grow."

They will hope to respond to the Wolves defeat when they travel to Aston Villa for the FA Cup replay on Wednesday night.
