Confirmed Chelsea XI vs Wolves as Mauricio Pochettino makes crucial Christopher Nkunku decision

Chelsea are aiming for a fifth consecutive home win in the Premier League for the first time since 2020.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is hoping his team respond emphatically against Wolves after the disappointment of Anfield where they were second best all night. Forward Nicolas Jackson is in the squad after arriving back from the Africa Cup of Nations.

He adds to the boost of having Christopher Nkunku who announced his return from a hip injury with a brilliant goal against Liverpool in midweek, he starts here for the first game in six weeks. Having the French forward available gives manager Pochettino options in attack if he wanted to tweak things later in the game.

Wolves do not have any fresh injuries from their defeat at home to Manchester United on Thursday but Hwang Hee-chan remains away at the Asian Cup and Boubacar Traore's Mali only crashed out of the AFCON last night, so this will be too soon for him to be involved.

Midfielders Joao Gomes and Pablo Sarabia are pushing for a start after returning as substitutes in midweek. Chelsea are aiming for a fifth consecutive home win in the Premier League for the first time since 2020.

Chelsea have been strong at home so you'd expect them to go hard at Wolves who won the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign. The Blues are aiming for their fifth consecutive home win here.

Cole Palmer has been sensational for the west London club since joining in the summer from Manchester City, he's scored in four of his five home league starts for Chelsea so there is no surprise that he's retained his spot in the squad.

Below is the entire XI Pochettino has named for the game this afternoon:
