Chelsea’s tough start to life under manager Mauricio Pochettino continued with the Blues only able to draw against Bournemouth.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says forward Mykhailo Mudryk will come good despite his below-par performance against Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Mykhailo Mudryk was given his first start of the season and even though he started brightly, his lack of game time told with a few rushed decisions. He was the first to be hooked as he still awaits his first Chelsea goal since signing last January.

There were some moments when he looked bright and his delivery looked dangerous but for a player brought in for almost £90million, there is definitely room for improvement.

His pace is an asset but Chelsea’s form has in some way affected his confidence and decision-making in key areas. Manager Mauricio Pochettino says it will come with time.

He told BBC 5LIVE: “He is improving. He still needs to learn in the Premier League, it’s very fast. He needs to understand the game better, and try to be more connected sometimes with the team. We need to give the time and tools for him to improve.”

Chelsea have now failed to win their first two away game of the season and the injury to Moises Caicedo will only lead to growing frustration after spending almost £1billion in the transfer window. There were moments where Chelsea looked impressive and if they can improve on their finishing, the results will come but for now, it's just one win in their first five games of the came.
