Jose Mourinho is widely regarded by many as Chelsea’s best-ever manager after winning multiple titles with the club.

Jose Mourinho refused to be dragged into the discussion about Chelsea when asked what he thought of Mauricio Pochettino leaving the club this summer despite defying the odds and helping them to an impressive sixth-place finish in the league.

Mourinho is regarded by many as one of the best managers in the game and Chelsea's greatest ever after winning three league titles, one FA Cup and three League Cups across two spells in west London.

In the last few years, Chelsea have changed directions since they had American ownership with the module changed slightly to buying young players with their future ahead of them.

Last season they finished 12th in the league, but Pochettino came in and got them to the final of the League Cup, semi-final of the FA Cup and back to Europe

However that was not enough and when asked what he thought of it, the former Chelsea manager told TNT: "I have no idea. I have no idea. Tottenham I have an idea. They want to always be finishing fourth and fifth but Chelsea honestly I don't know.

“Next season Tottenham have Europa League, of course, they can win it but for Chelsea, it’s really hard to tell at the moment.”

Chelsea hoping to get back to the top through a measured approach

In the last two transfer windows, Chelsea have spent almost £1billion on transfers and even though most of them are regarded as massive talents that could take the world by storm, there is also the possibility that some might struggle.

They are on the verge of signing Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham after Thiago Silva left the club after four excellent years. That also means they might likely sell Trevoh Chalobah in a bid to balance the books and lighten the wage bill.
