Italian side AC Milan are still holding talks with Chelsea to try and secure the signing of want-away star Christian Pulisic this summer. The United States star has made it clear he wants out having failed to kick on in the last two years in west London.

Lyon had jumped ahead of Milan in the race for his signature but a blow in their financial dealings that could see them punished means Milan are back in the driving seat. The Italian side have a good relationship with Chelsea and have struck deals for the likes of Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori.

They also have just sealed the deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek who left Chelsea after more than a decade at the club where he came through the ranks and established himself as a first-team player.

Pulisic has been hit with injuries and when he has been fit, he’s just not been able to get into the team as much as he would like- making a move away for a significant amount of money the best move for everyone involved. Milan still have space for another forward who will help Rafael Leao and help out at a time when he’s injured or suspended. The lifestyle in Milan is also said to be very close to that of London.

The arrival of Christopher Nkunku who can play out wide and through the middle has also meant that Chelsea are covered in that area and will be looking to let go of a player who is not happy to be staying at the moment.

Chelsea are back at Cobham for pre-season with Ben Chilwell, Reece James, and Raheem Sterling among the players to report early.
