Chelsea are sweating on an injury issue after an interesting update from an international manager. The Blues went into the break in pretty good shape as far as injuries go, but international breaks have a habit of changing such luck.
Enzo Maresca will be praying not to have any setbacks, but there may already be one after one round of fixtures for most nations. Chelsea’s key midfielder Romeo Lavia, who has been in fine form at club level, but he may not get his second cap for the Red Devils just yet.

That suggests Lavia has picked up a fresh injury. Lavia initially said earlier this week: "I received a small knock. At the moment, we are testing to see if it's okay, but it should be okay.“ But since then, Tedesco has told RTL Sports: “I think Romeo Lavia has a hamstring problem, it was bothering him this morning and we didn't want to risk him."
Lavia has formed a solid partnership with Moises Caicedo in the heart of Chelsea’s midfield, and they will be hoping he returns fit, but hamstring issues do not usually offer a quick path to recovery. If Lavia is set for a longer period on the sidelines, it’s likely Enzo Fernandez would have to come into the midfield, and he would need to step up his performances, with Maresca not trusting the Argentine to start currently.
On the positive side, Chelsea will be pleased that Lavia is not being risked by Belgium, giving him the best chance of returning fit. The Red Devils. The Red Devils face Israel away from home on Sunday night.
