Mykhailo Mudryk is wasting no time as he looks to prove his mammoth transfer fee at Chelsea.

The Ukrainian was snapped up by Chelsea after a transfer battle for his signature. Arsenal looked set to sign the winger until the Blues came storming into the battle with a bid of more than £60million plus huge add-ons. For that sort of money, the winger will be expected to have a major impact at Stamford Bridge, and particularly given Chelsea’s struggles so far.

And he already looks like a serious player, making his debut for the Blues off the bench against Liverpool on Saturday. Graham Potter brought Mudryk on in the 55th minute, and he made an instant impact with his turn of pace and intensity on the ball. Mudryk did miss a chance, and he couldn’t quite get a reward for his dazzling cameo in the form of a goal, but everyone will have been impressed by his impact on the game, especially given he was making his Premier League debut and off the bench.

It was even more impressive in the context of a tight game that saw few clear-cut chances created, and many fans are already gettin gvery excited. Pundits are also impressed with the early signs, and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has taken to Twitter to have his say.

The former Manchester United defender tweeted while the game was still on, saying: “Seeing Mudryk for 10 mins I wouldn’t like to play against him!”

Chelsea look to have bagged themselves a superstar, and it would be a big surprise if Mudryk didn’t start their next outing, against Fulham on Friday night. Of course, we have only seen a 35-minute cameo, but it’s so far, so good from arguable the most exciting of Chelsea’s recruits in the January transfer window so far.
