Chelsea may still be in with a chance of signing Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr this summer.

Neymar has made plenty of headlines this summer, being heavily linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain. It has been a baptism of fire for new PSg head coach Luis Enrique, who took the job before Lionel Messi departed, while Kylian Mbappe may yet leave, and Neymar is also being tipped to move on.

PSG could lose all three of their superstars before the end of the summer transfer window, though the arrival of Goncalo Ramos could soften the blow.

Neymar’s father recently played down talks of wanting an exit, saying: “I can’t confirm a news that didn’t happen. L’Equipe being L’Efake. (The alleged information) came from somewhere, let’s try to understand the intention,”

But accoridng to L’Equipe, Neymar recently told PSG he would like to leave, the French club are keen to offload the Brazilian, who is now 31 years of age. Barcelona don’t want him back this summer, while a report from RMC Sport claims the forward’s representatives have been in regular contact with Chelsea, who still have money to spend this summer.

Though, the Blues would need to pay huge wages to Neymar, and it’s no secret that their spending figure is already very high on that front after 18 months or so of big investments. That’s something The Guardian have claimed in reporting that Chelsea will not pursue a deal for Neymar amid a reported £60million asking price from PSG.

Mauricio Pochettino has, of course, worked with Neymar recently at PSG, and he has praised the winger, saying in 2021: “It’s so easy with Neymar because you don’t need to do too much.

“From day one, he’s been very open to work. He’s very humble, he listens and always accepts all the instructions in a very good way.”

An interesting few weeks awaits Neymar and, of course, PSG, who could yet lose Mbappe.
