Fresh Chelsea injury boost as 19-year-old star spotted in Cobham training for the first time this week

Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka is hoping to get his first minutes since returning from injury against Burnley.

Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has been spotted in the latest pictures shared by Chelsea ahead of their game against Burnley this weekend.

The 19-year-old is attempting a return to the team after undergoing a surgery after the injury to his knee against West Ham in the Premier League.

He was named on the bench against Fulham but could not make it on the field given the nature of the win and Chelsea needing to see out the game out and keep a ckean sheet.

His return gives manager Mauricio Pochettino a needed boost in the heart of midfield and options to try in the NO 10 having been forced to play Enzo Fernandez and now Cole Palmer there.

Chelsea lost Ben Chilwell to a hamstring injury and he will likely be out till mid December while Mykhailo Mudryk was forced out in the win against Fulham.

There is however some good new with Moises Caicedo likely to return for the game against Burnley despite apearing to have suffered a knock against Fulham.

Chelsea recorded their first win in three league games in the West London derby, only their seond league win and the first time they had beaten a team ahead of them in the league since 2022.

The result has lifted moods and bought trust for manager Mauricio Pochettino who has been brought in to get the best out of a talented but young squad.

Chelsea finished 12th in the league laste season, so they don’t have European football which allows them extra time to work onn the training ground.
