French side Lyon have submitted an offer of £21million to sign Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic in a blow to AC Milan’s ambitions.

French side Lyon have entered the race to sign United States forward Christian Pulisic with a £21million offer for the Chelsea forward this summer.

Over the weekend Milan submitted a £12million offer after wrapping up the deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek earlier in the week. The Italian side have developed a good relationship with Chelsea with deals for Giroud and Tomori in the past believed to have smoothened their dealings.

But Lyon’s latest offer is significantly better than what Milan is willing to pay, which has made a move to France more likely at this moment to Christian Pulisic.

The player's preference will be to join the Italian side who won the league a couple of seasons ago and enjoyed an impressive Champions League campaign last time out but the numbers must make sense to both Chelsea and Pulisic.

The former Dortmund star has scored 26 goals in 145 games for the Blues in an extremely underwhelming four years at Stamford Bridge despite arriving with a mountain of promise.

Injuries have played their part and the ever-changing nature of Chelsea managers, direction and transfer has also made it hard for him to find the consistency that a player like him would want.

The ball is now really in Milan’s court as they will have to at least up their £12million offer and Lyon is willing to pay better wages.

In other news Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has arrived at the Cobham training ground for his first day of work as he looks to get his Chelsea reign underway.

The Blues turned to the former Tottenham manager after an underwhelming first season under new owners where they finished 12th.
