France legend Zinedine Zidane has reportedly been identified as the man to take over from Graham Potter if he eventually loses his job at Stamford Bridge.

Zidane was in line for the French national team job before the football federation decided to extend the contract of Didier Deschamps after the World Cup.

In the last few days he’s been linked with the PSG job but according to Football Espana, Chelsea are willing to offer him a deal in the region of £13 million to replace struggling Graham Potter.

Graham Potter has just two wins in his last 15 games and has just lost to bottom placed Southampton in the league at home, the board is reported to be split on their next move, but the second leg of the Champions League game against Dortmund could be the final nail on the coffin for the former Brighton boss.

The Chelsea fan base have been quite unreceptive to Potter since he joined the club as results have dived and the atmosphere in the team seem to be deteriorating.

There are some fans who also feel he just doesn’t have the charisma to handle a team of super stars- and that has led to the recent slump on the pitch.

Zidane is highly respected by current players due to his success on and off the field-and it is believed that he is now ready to return to club football after leaving Real Madrid in 2021.

Chelsea are currently 10th on the Premier League table, and 11 points behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur with hopes of finishing in a Champions League spot fading by the day.
