Chelsea have been linked with a move for out-of-favour Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in recent weeks - however, recent reports suggest that the Blues will not be making a move for the player in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Chelsea are no longer interested - he says that Ramsdale is 'is not part of the list for January'. Additionally, he also mentioned that Mauricio Pochettino's men are 'very happy' with current backup 'keeper Djorjde Petrović.

Chelsea could sign a new goalkeeper in the winter window, following an injury to Robert Sanchez that will likely keep the Spaniard out of action until the end of January. While their contentment with Petrovic is apparent, it does not mean they will not look to snap up another goalkeeper and Todd Boehly is no stranger to splashing the cash.

There is speculation over Ramsdale's future at the Emirates, with David Raya the clear number one choice for the position. Moreover, he has received encouragement to depart the Emirates Stadium from club legends such as David Seaman and Emmanuel Petit - as things stand, the former Sheffield United shot-stopper's future seems to be up in the air.

Should Chelsea sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal?

Last season, Ramsdale was arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League. He played every minute of every league game for the Gunners - while he was prone to the occasional error, they were generally few and far between.

This season, his form has taken a turn for the worse - resulting in his position being usurped by the incoming Raya. While he is still an excellent goalkeeper, his confidence seems to have taken a blow.

This aside, if Chelsea want to bring Ramsdale to Stamford Bridge, he will not come cheap. While his actual asking price is unspecified, it is believed that the Gunners will require a fee in the region of £50 million to allow him to leave the club.
