Chelsea’s search for a winger
Chelsea continue to search for a new winger, with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens said to be options. Journalist David Ornstein wrote in The Athletic’s transfer blog: "Chelsea have made enquiries about Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund as they consider options to bolster in the wide attacking areas.
"The 20-year-old wingers are among multiple candidates of interest to Chelsea as they explore potential signings. Conversations remain at an early stage, with Garnacho and Gittens fitting the profile the west London club are pondering to bolster head coach Enzo Maresca’s squad."
Chalobah asking price
Chelsea are said to have upped their asking price for Trevoh Chalobah significantly despite pushing to sell him during the summer. The Blues cast Chalobah aside, and when they couldn’t sell him, they sent him on loan to Crystal Palace.
The defender did well at Palace and amid a lack of depth at centre-back at Stamford Bridge, he was recalled upon the turn of the year. According to The Sun, Chelsea are now asking for £40million to sell Chalobah, doubling what they were asking for in the summer.
Pereira on Chelsea test
Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has been speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Chelsea, saying: “They are a team that maybe five games away was a team to win the league. Now, because they are not getting the results, they have the same players, the same manager, top players a top manager.
“They are a team that has identity as a team, they play in the style where they have a model game, and we must go there with our identity and the things that we try to work every day, trying to increase every day.
“I'm not a coach that if I lose a game, I would change my mind. I’m a coach to create an identity, to increase the level, to increase the level to play in the same style, in the way to have intentions. We go to face Chelsea, trying to play our game. Of course, in the other side, we'll face a team with quality, with top players, and against top players, you cannot consider the spaces and the time to play in the way that they like.”
