Chelsea vs Wolves final injury update as 10 ruled out and 6 doubts
All the latest injury news surrounding Chelsea and Wolves as they prepare to face off in the Premier League.
Chelsea return to action on Monday night when they host a struggling Wolves side that is bidding to pull away from the relegation spots under the recently appointed Vitor Pereira. The Blues have business of their own to take care of, currently sitting outside of the top four having gone five league games without a win.
With Newcastle United now in fourth place, Chelsea need to find a good run of form to reclaim a Champions League spot. Here we round up all the latest injury news surrounding the Blues and Wolves ahead of the Monday night clash.
Yerson Mosquera - Out
Mosquera is out long term with a serious knee injury.
Enzo Medina - Out
The same applies for Medina, who is also out long term.
Sasa Kalajdzic - Out
Kalajdzic is not expected to return from his knee injury until March at the earliest.
Boubacar Traore - Out
Traore is close to a return, but he won’t be back until next week. Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has said: “Boubacar is working with us now.”
Toti Gomes - Out
The same applies to Gomes, with Pereira saying: “Toti is recovering well. I believe in one week, maybe [he will be ready].”
Mario Lemina - Doubt
Lemina seems to be back in contention after a falling out with the club. The Wolves boss said: “Today he came to me, he asked to apologise to me and the team. He said he is ready to do his best for the team until we have a solution and decision. We all make mistakes, and we must give him the opportunity to show [he is sorry].”
Matheus Cunha - Doubt
Pereira has said of Cunha after a bout with illness: “Today, he was out of the training because he got the flu. He’s a bit sick, and I hope tomorrow he will be on the pitch. Then, it’s a possibility to be in the next game.”
Wesley Fofana - Out
Fofana is out long term with a hamstring issue. Maresca confirmed earlier this month: “With Wes, we don’t know exactly how long he could be out for, but he has a hamstring injury, and unfortunately, we are going to lose him for a while. He could be out for the season, yes.”
Benoit Badiashile - Out
Maresca has said of the defender’s hamstring issue: “Benoit will be out at least until February.”
Cole Palmer - Doubt
Maresca has said of a fresh Palmer concern: “Cole had a kick in the ankle in the first half [against Bournemouth]. He didn’t train today, and we don’t know if we’ll train tomorrow or in two days.”
Levi Colwill - Doubt
Maresca has said: “Levi was also not in the session today, Enzo wasn't in the session today, Romeo wasn't in the session today. So, we have three or four players who are doubts for Monday's game because of the last game.”
Enzo Fernandez - Doubt
Maresca’s update above applies here.
Romero Lavia - Doubt
The update also applies to Lavia.
Mykhailo Mudryk - Out (Suspended)
Mudryk has been provisionally suspended due to alleged consumption of an unauthorised substance.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - Out
Maresca has confirmed: “Keirnan is still injured, so he won’t be involved.”
Omari Kellyman - Out
Kellyman remains out, as he has been for almost the entire season, with a hamstring issue.
