Chelsea star Cole Palmer is expected to feature for England tonight as Lee Carsley's side take on Greece in Nations League action at Wembley Stadium.

The prolific Premier League star was used sparingly at Euro 2024 this summer but is expected to start alongside Jude Bellingham on Thursday night after talisman Harry Kane picked up an injury and will be unable to play.

Interim boss Carsley is rumoured to be prepared to deploy Jude Bellingham as a false nine and allow Palmer to play in his favoured no. 10 role against Greece.

Cole Palmer was named England men's player of the year for the 2023/24 season this week, joining a long list of prestigious names to have scooped up the award. Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane have all won the accolade multiple times.

The award is voted for by the public and Palmer beat Real Madrid man Jude Bellingham and Arsenal starboy Bukayo Saka to the prize. Palmer only made his England debut last November, in a 2-0 win against Malta at Wembley.

The midfielder has gone on to represent the Three Lions nine times but has only started twice. Five of those appearances came at Euro 2024 this summer.

Palmer scored the only England goal in the final against Spain, with Gareth Southgate's side losing 2-1 in heartbreaking fashion.

Cole Palmer is known to be dating beautician Connie Grace with the couple appearing to make their relationship public when posing for photos with the Chelsea man's PFA Young Player of the Year award in September. The duo had previously been spotted holidaying in Ibiza together this summer.

The 22-year-old embraced Grace at Stamford Bridge ahead of the Premier League match against Crystal Palace in West London last month. A source told MailOnline: "Cole and Connie have grown increasingly close over the summer. They were able to spend quality time together during Cole's time off and their friendship has blossomed. Cole even invited Connie to his game on Sunday, cementing their closeness and the trust between them.

Palmer made a high profile move from Manchester City to Chelsea in 2023 for a huge £42.5 million. The midfielder had struggled to cement a place in the starting XI under Pep Guardiola, having come through the Cityzens' youth academy, and signed a seven year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Having plundered 27 goals in all competitions last season, Palmer was given a fresh Chelsea contract this summer which is set to keep him at the football club until 2033. Metro reported that the player's wage moved from £80,000 a week to £130,000.
