Enzo Maresca’s side have two pre-season friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan before the league campaign begins with the visit of Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have been busy in the summer window so far, both in terms of incomings and outgoings. LondonWorld looks at how the Blues could line up against the Eagles if current transfer rumours come true.

Chelsea XI if transfer rumours come true

Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma

Defenders: Marc Cucurella, Levi Colwill, Jorrel Hato, Reece James

The Chelsea goalkeeping situation is slowly being cleared up. Kepa Arrizabalaga has joined Arsenal with Djordje Petrovic heading to AFC Bournemouth, leaving Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen battling for the number one spot again. Enzo Maresca has maintained his confidence in that duo but they have both come under fire for performances with the Blues interested in Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma according to The Sun.

Marc Cucurella is set to be offered a fresh contract to reaffirm his importance at Chelsea. Reece James will be aiming to stay fit and nail down the position on the opposite flank. Chelsea are expected to fork out £35 million for Jorrel Hato, who already looks the real deal at 19 years old.

Defensive Midfield: Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia

There are some murmurs of Real Madrid interest in Enzo Fernandez which could be something to watch between now and the end of the window. Chelsea are blessed with options in that defensive midfield role with Romeo Lavia fit again. Moises Caicedo was outstanding last season and James can also fill in here.

Enzo Maresca targets £60m Xavi Simons

Attacking Midfield: Alejandro Garnacho, Cole Palmer, Xavi Simons

Striker: Joao Pedro

There’s still no shortage of rumours linking attacking players with a move to Stamford Bridge. Alejandro Garnacho is set to quit Old Trafford and Chelsea have long been named as an interested party with the player wanting to stay in the Premier League.

Cole Palmer will take some knocking out of the XI but the versatile Xavi Simons could provide competition. The Guardian reports that Chelsea want the £60 million valued RB Leipzig man. Jamie Gittens has already arrived from Borussia Dortmund and will be expecting his fair share of minutes, but is just 20 years old and his progress will have to be managed.

There’s plenty of reason to be excited about Joao Pedro after his £60 million move from Brighton and Club World Cup performances. Liam Delap will challenge him to lead the line with Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson expected to now leave.
