'Today is the end': Another Chelsea youngster confirms he's back at Cobham training ground

Chelsea have had some loan players recalled from their loan spells this winter transfer window.

Portuguese youngster Diego Moreira is back at Chelsea after his loan deal at Lyon was cut short after just seven Ligue 1 appearances for the club. The 19-year-old was one of Chelsea’s array of summer signings, joining from Benfica on a free transfer as his contract in Portugal expired.

The youngster made his Chelsea debut straight away after signing in a League Cup game against AFC Wimbledon in August before Lyon secured his signature. Since then, he's managed a few games and with Lyon struggling in the league, they've decided to cut his loan deal and free up space to bring another player before the transfer window shuts.

Moreira would not be allowed to go out on loan again having already played for both Chelsea and Lyon this campaign, so he's set to stay with Mauricio Pochettino's side as they go in search of an improved second half of the season.

He confirmed his return to London with a post on his Instagram page: "Lyon supporters, today is the end of my loan with the OL. I wanted to thank you for your welcome from the first day, the first match, from the first steps at Groupama (Stadium). These are memories that will forever be etched in my memory.

"I wish the players as well as the supporters that they achieve their goals in this second part of the season."

He now joins Cesare Casadei who has also returned to Chelsea from his loan spell at Leicester City and was spotted in the training pictures from Cobham ahead of the game against Middlesbrough.
