Chelsea rival Real Madrid for Bayern Munich star as Blues legend wants Poch decision
Chelsea are hoping to make an eye-catching move in the transfer market as they await their first new addition of the January transfer window.
After a lucrative summer spend saw the likes of Moises Caicedo, Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer all join the Blues, the current window was always expected to be a more quiet effort at Stamford Bridge.

Hide AdSpeaking about the need for new arrivals, manager Mauricio Pochettino said: It is not like this. Like you know, too many rumours going around the clubs. It is not what they translate to me. It is not necessary to sell to buy some players. I am very positive and happy with the squad. We are working, if something appears, we will announce. At the moment we are assessing and working normally, how we have been working from the beginning of the season.”
Despite that admission, Chelsea are reportedly making a move to add to Pochettino’s squad after they were linked with a move for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. The Canada international was said to be in line for a lucrative move to Real Madrid but Spanish outlet Fichajes have now claimed Davies has ‘caught the attention’ of Chelsea, who are hoping to ‘take advantage’ of his contract situation as he moves into the final 18 months of his current deal with the Bundesliga champions.
Blues icon wants Pochettino patience
Chelsea legend John Terry has called on the Blues owners to show patience with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The former England defender remains a well respected figure at Stamford Bridge after claiming 15 major honours during a 19-year spell within the senior setup at his boyhood club. There are few people better placed than Terry to understand what it takes to succeed at Chelsea and he has insisted the former Spurs and PSG manager can succeed if he is given time by the Blues hierarchy.

Hide AdSpeaking at the Globe Soccer Awards, Terry said: "Unfortunately, Chelsea are a little bit off it at the moment. But given time, the manager needs time, Poch is a great manager, I've seen him work on a daily basis. We are a young squad of players as well, but we are a long way off of the likes of Man City and Liverpool at the moment."
