One of the biggest stories on the transfer rumour mill right now is Chelsea’s interest in Moisés Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion. The two have been linked for some time now and the Seagulls aren’t willing to part with him easily, but the Blues remain dedicated to the cause.

Caicedo is one of, if not the main focal point for Chelsea right now and the club will be eager to wrap up a deal with Brighton sooner rather than later as it is now dragging on longer than they may have liked. Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest on their discussions via his YouTube channel.

The transfer expert has stated that Chelsea are “prepared to improve” their offer for Caicedo, which at this moment in time has been limited to just verbal discussions. An official bid has not yet been tabled by Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
“Chelsea are prepared to go for a bid that will be more than £70 million guaranteed plus add-ons to convince Brighton,” Romano said. “The hope of Chelsea is to get the deal done next week and they will improve their proposal in this verbal discussion. Caicedo and Chelsea are still close, nothing has changed, the conversation is ongoing every single day.”
Caicedo ‘really unhappy’
It seems it isn’t just Chelsea who are eager to get a deal over the line here either. According to sports broadcaster Ben Jacobs, Caicedo himself is getting impatient with the back and forth and is reportedly ‘really unhappy’ that the two clubs haven’t come to an agreement over a move yet.

He started all but three Premier League fixtures last season and produced the second highest amount of interceptions (56) and tackles (100) in the whole division throughout the term.
