Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is reported in the German papers to have agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich amid claims that he could leave Pep Gaurdiola’s treble-winning side.

Walker has been at City for the last six years, helping them to win multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League last season. Pep’s team have already lost Ilkay Gündogan, the captain of last season’s treble campaign.

Gliding winger Riyadh Mahrez has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with City looking to bring in fresh faces to refresh the team ahead of next season.

There is no hiding from the fact City will look weak without the experience of Walker, who can play as a central defender but is mostly unbeatable as a fullback.

With Walker Manchester City, have mastered the art of defending against counter-attacks and losing him will definitely weaken the team’s defence as evidenced by his sterling performance against Real Madrid.

Chelsea are looking at a massive rebuild having amassed more than £200million from player sales while Tottenham have employed fast-rising manager Ange Postecoglou to help bring back the DNA of the club following recent disappointing campaigns.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham endured incredibly forgetful campaigns but will look to bounce back having made giant strides in the summer already. Tottenham are heading to Australia, Thailand and Singapore while Chelsea will head off to the United States on Monday.

Manchester City are still favourites to win next season’s league title but with the key players looking to exit, it might open a window of opportunity for the chasing pack.
