The latest decision one of Chelsea’s top players will delight manager Enzo Maresca ahead of Leicester.

The decision to release Cole Palmer from England duty will delight Maresca and give Palmer the necessary time to recover from the knocks he has been suffering lately. LondonWorld spotted Palmer walking away from the Arsenal game looking like he had taken several hits during the match.

Before the game last weekend, he was a doubt after receiving a tackle to his knee from Manchester United defender Lisandro Martínez. During the game, there were signs that Palmer wasn't his usual self, as he failed to influence the game as much as he would have liked.

However, the decision from England to allow him to rest will ultimately benefit his recovery ahead of the game against Leicester with reports that midfielder Romeo Lavia is also back in Cobham with an injury concern. He is already making good use of his time off, having been spotted in the North watching a League One match.

Hailing from nearby Wythenshawe, Palmer was seen at Edgeley Park as Stockport hosted fellow third-tier newcomers Wrexham. With winter fast approaching, Palmer wrapped up warmly in a big coat and hat, feeling the cold more than usual.

Wrexham players won’t have been fazed by the presence of a famous spectator, with their Hollywood A-list co-owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, often attending their games.

Palmer has been sensational for Chelsea since joining last summer, arriving at a time when the club was at a low point but investing heavily in young talent. He seized the opportunity and quickly established himself as the team’s standout star.

His ability to win games single-handedly has been a tremendous asset to a Chelsea team aiming to return to the top of European football. This season, he’s continued where he left off, scoring seven league goals and providing five assists in 11 games, with Chelsea currently sitting third in the league.
