Chelsea could be set to land a £42million transfer windfall as they look to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo this summer.

The Blues are reshaping their squad this summer following the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, with plenty of exits and incomings expected across the course of the summer. Pochettino certainly doesn’t want a squad as big as the one Graham potter and Frank Lampard had to deal with last summer, and that means plenty of exits will take place across this summer.

The likes of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Kai Havertz and others have already left, and they won’t be the last as Chelsea continue to work on new arrivals.

According to Fabrizio Romano, brighton star Caicedo remains a clear target, with the journalist tweeting: “Understand Chelsea will improve their bid for Moisés Caicedo this week, as revealed yesterday.

“It's not about official bids as Chelsea-Brighton are discussing directly club to club; but proposal will be improved, more than £70m fixed. Chelsea hope to get it done this week.”

Still having to balance Financial Fair Play rules, and still needing to keep squad numbers down, Chelsea need to offload even more players, and there are two who look to be on their way. According to The Athletic, Marseille are interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Chelsea are keen to get a fee for the forward.

Reports in April claimed Chelsea set a £12million price tag for the striker ahead of this summer. Elsewhere, Romelu Lukaku is looking for a new club, and it seems he won’t be returning to Inter Milan after the Champions League finalists walked away from a deal. Inter are said to have discovered that Lukaku’s representatives were also speaking to Juventus, causing them to walk away from the negotiating table.

The good news for Chelsea is that, according to Romano, Juventus could still sign Lukaku and for as much as £30million up front, creating a possible £42million windfall for the Blues between the two potential exitees.

“Lukaku is now expected to return to training with Chelsea, but not to go on their pre-season tour. Mauricio Pochettino has not yet spoken to him, and the desire remains very clear on Chelsea’s side – they want him out,” Romano has told CaughtOffside.

“Chelsea have no other intention but to sell the player – they are not happy with him and they want him to leave. The two options for Lukaku are Saudi, with clubs there still insisting, and Juventus. Lukaku has said no to Saudi so far, while he’s spoken with Juventus and they have also sent a verbal proposal to Chelsea for €35m (£30m) plus €2.5m add-ons. Juve are big candidates to sign Lukaku, but only if they sell Dusan Vlahovic.”
