The Blues are poised to sign the 20-year-old from the Spanish giants as Conor Gallagher heads the other way. The West London club have beaten rivals in the capital to the player's signature with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly 'keen' on a move for the rising star at the start of the summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Guardian provided an update on the imminent transfer to Stamford Bridge on Friday, reporting that Omorodion is set to complete a medical with the club in the coming days. The player has only just completed his services for the Spanish under-23 squad at Paris 2024, which ended with a triumphant humbling of the host nation in the final on Friday.
It was an eight-goal thriller in the men's Olympic football final, with Spain running out 5-3 winners at the Parc des Princes. The fixture finished at 3-3 after 90 minutes thanks to an injury time leveller from Frenchman Jean-Philippe Mateta but an extra time brace from Sergio Camello for Spain secured the gold medal.
Omorodion will have his hands on a medal himself, but was absent from the Spanish squad in the final with reports suggesting that he left the camp in order to complete his Chelsea medical for the summer transfer. The striker did play a cameo role in the semi-final win over Morocco on Monday.

The young Spaniard's move to Stamford Bridge is set to be sanctioned by the Atletico Madrid purchase of striker Julian Alvarez from Manchester City as Diego Simeone oversees an offensive reshuffle.
Omorodion spent last season on loan at Alaves but has been deemed surplus to requirements at Atletico. The striker bagged nine La Liga goals in 35 appearances for Alaves last term.
